Multisystemic Therapy
Multisystemic Therapy (MST)
MST is an evidence-based, family- and home-based treatment that helps youth improve behavior in their natural environments, including home, school, and the community. MST promotes positive social behavior while reducing antisocial, aggressive, and delinquent behaviors by addressing the factors that contribute to a young person’s challenges. Using a multisystemic approach, our MST professionals work with young people, families, and other key supports to build healthier relationships, improve communication, strengthen parenting skills, and create lasting behavioral change.
MST serves youth ages 12-17 who are at risk of out-of-home placement due to antisocial, aggressive, or delinquent behavior, as well as youth involved with the juvenile justice system.
Primary Goals of MST
• Reduce or eliminate the behaviors that placed the youth at risk for out-of-home placement or juvenile justice involvement.
• Empower parents and caregivers with the skills, confidence, and resources to effectively manage future challenges.
• Help youth develop the skills to successfully navigate challenges at home, in school, with peers, and in the community.
“Second Chances Comprehensive Services is every essence of its meaning. SCCS gave my son a second chance at life by implementing behavioral techniques necessary to provide daily functions both at home and in the community.”
